Social Impact Economics and Entrepreneurship - An evening with Dr Nat Ware (Class of '06)
We are thrilled to welcome back former Barker College School Captain, Dr Nat Ware (’06) for a conversation about economic and entrepreneurial solutions to global problems.
Nat is currently the Founder and CEO of Forte, which is a way to finance high-quality education and healthcare worldwide at no cost to individuals or governments, and without needing philanthropy. Nat developed this new approach during his PhD at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. The Forte model has been endorsed by the World Economic Forum, World Bank and Forbes, and has been implemented in Colombia, Costa Rica and Australia to help disadvantaged individuals to achieve their full potential. It was described by the Australian Financial Review as “an elegant, creative and timely solution to some of society’s big challenges: inequality, skills gaps, the moral issue of unemployment.” It has also been referred to as “trickle-up economics” and “the holy grail of impact investing”.
Nat is also Chairman of another organization he founded and led, 180 Degrees Consulting, which is the world’s largest volunteer consultancy and world’s largest consultancy for non-profits. Nat started this organization in the year after he graduated from Barker, and has grown it into a truly global organization which now has 175 branches across 35 countries, has done over 8500 consultancy projects, provided over 5.5 million hours of volunteer services, and trained over 65,000 social impact leaders to date.
All connected to the Barker community are invited to this intimate event to connect with, learn from and ask questions of a wonderful speaker (Two-time World Top 20 Debater, Rhodes Scholar, Forbes 30 Under 30, TEDx speaker with millions of views, NSW Young Achiever of the Year).
Whether you are interested in economic solutions to real-world problems, consulting, social entrepreneurship, global impact, or one possible journey of a Barker graduate, this event is not to be missed.
