Public Launch: Young people, learning, and generative AI: A rapid literature review and implications for PreK–12 education

The Barker Institute, and Barker College are committed to careful consideration and meaningful engagement with innovation and opportunities in education, and Generative AI is no exception.
As part of a large research program on AI, Learning and the Developing Person, the Barker Institute has partnered with the University of Sydney to produce a rapid literature review. This review is the largest synthesis worldwide of emerging evidence on the impact of Generative AI (GenAI) on young people in PreK-12 settings. Focusing on implications for learning, development, and educational practice, the literature review has already been used to inform practices at Barker and was used to train Barker staff at a professional learning conference in Week 1 of Term 3.
It is time to formally publish these results and share them with the world that all may benefit from this important work.
Join us on Tuesday 11 August (evening - 7:30pm), or Wednesday 12 August (lunchtime - 13:30pm), to hear from the authors the process and key conclusions and implications. The full literature review will then be available on the Barker Institute website.
