The Lift Project: A year-long, evidence-based wellbeing project for the whole Barker community
What everyday activities have been demonstrated to lift your mood?
Which foods give you and your family the best chance of learning and thriving each day?
Why can experiencing gratitude rewire your brain leading to better outcomes at work and home?
Exploring these questions and many more, Barker College has partnered with Avondale University and The Lift Project to transform the Barker community in 2023 through a special whole-person, whole-community initiative.
Each month, the whole Barker community will be participating in one of the 10 modules of The Lift Project, which explores simple but science-based strategies for lifting your mood and your life. Students will engage in The Lift Project through in class and extra-curricular activities while the Barker staff will participate in the initiative through professional learning. The broader Barker community are invited to get involved through events (that will be promoted).
To launch The Lift Project to the Barker community, we have managed to secure Dr Darren Morton, founder of The Lift Project, to come and present at Barker at 7pm on Monday 20 February.
Come along to hear about:
- Current research and best practice into supporting and promoting mental health and wellbeing in our busy world today.
- How The Lift Project is being implemented at Barker in 2023.
- How you and your family may connect with, and benefit from, The Lift Project.
