By popular demand, we are calling for Cohort 2 of our free Confident Parent Course

Barker parents who completed the course in Term 1 have said about the Confident Parent Course:

- This has been one of the most wonderful and beneficial Barker events I’ve attended

- This is a great initiative and I am grateful that Barker has chosen to help us parents to become a better version of ourselves

- It has made me more hopeful and shone a light on the deeply ingrained behaviour that we do as parents that can be adjusted through having confidence in our parenting

The free Confident Parent Course uses a family systems approach, where focussing on managing yourselves can bring about change in the family

- A four-part course with Barker staff facilitators and video content by Dr Jenny Brown, providing a balance of ideas, action role plays and time for reflection

- When parents make a project out of themselves rather than anxiously focussing on their child, this provides developmental 'breathing space' for the child, reducing worry and increasing parent confidence

- Focus on what is within your control, holding boundaries and parenting by your principles to regain confidence

- Relevant for all age groups, covering in Part 1: Where is my energy directed? Part 2: Is worry driving my connection? Part 3: How do I hold clear limits? Part 4: Am I thinking big picture?

As this is a discussion-based course, numbers are limited and it will be run in manner bespoke for the parents who register.
