The question of how to support families and parents in the school is an endless and open-ended question. There are so many ways, so many needs, and so many opportunities. We seek, in some small way, to provide these opportunities and strive towards supporting the community of Barker.

Every midwife of a newborn baby knows that to ensure the baby can thrive the mother needs to be cared for. If the mother struggles the flow on will see the baby struggle. If the mother thrives the baby blossoms. Similarly, our role is to support parents – if we support the parents, we support the students. If we equip the families, we equip the students. If we model nurture and encourage families, then students will thrive from this nurture within and beyond the classroom.

Coming up we have events that cover both these areas – practical advice on sleep and tech addition, as well as nurturing support through our Confident Parenting course.

Looking ahead the wonderful theme of “Hope” will be explored in the second half of this year with events and opportunities to equip families and provide “Hope” in our world of challenges. We look forward to sharing and hope you can join us as we journey together.
