Parent Institute
Introducing a new member of the Parent Institute leadership team - Becky Shu
Becky Shu - teacher, chaplain and Barker parent - joins the Parent Institute leadership team

The Parent institute aims to bring parents together and support them in their noble task of parenting: in continuing this wonderful task, the parent institute welcomes Becky Shu as part of our term further connecting and supporting families within the Barker community.
Becky has been working in the Chaplaincy team at Barker for 7 years specifically in the Junior School as Christian Studies teacher for our youngest students. She has been a Primary school teacher for almost 25 years working across different schools. She also worked in a Children's Creative Arts Ministry organisation and served as a "Children's and Families Minister" in a local Anglican Church.
Becky has three children - one in the Senior School, one in the Middle School and one at their local primary school (so has some experience across many ages and stages of parenting).
She has a heart for supporting families, helping guide an understanding of the Christian Faith, and seeing children nurtured and loved.

I'm excited for the role that Becky will play in leading Parent Institute initiatives in 2025 and planning for 2026. She has already presented many new ideas that best meet the needs of Barker parents to be announced in the coming months. I hope you can connect with her and benefit from her friendship, wisdom and expertise.
Please reach out to Becky if you would like to learn more about her, the role, the Parent Institute, or how you can access further support. Best contact is via email at bshu@barker.nsw.edu.au, or come meet her in person at an upcoming Parent Institute event!
